Can ocean acidification be reversed?

    There have been proposals to neutralize the effects of ocean acidification by adding compounds to the ocean, which would probably work. However, this strategy would require many resources that would further exacerbate our non-renewable energy usage. Therefore, it would be more effective go to the root of the problem by to decreasing our dependency on the fossil fuels that caused the problem in the first place, rather than seeking to wholly reverse the significant changes that have already taken place.
