Can the new Salt and Paper battery help the current shortage in battery technology?

As far as thin film technology, its impressive. It doesn’t look like it has the potential for high current applications like you would see in an electric car for example – but it has a recharging time an order of magnitude smaller than a lithium battery and is made of materials that do not require a significant amount of manufacture, both of which are very important factors in battery development from an environmental and usability perspective.
