Can a mountain ever recover after mountain top mining?

With mountain top mining, the mountain goes through physical change in turn disturbing the plant life, soil and wildlife. When mining occurs it does not always effect the entire mountain, only the top is mined and usually just flatted out in the end.

Coal industries strive to leave their mining areas improved for wildlife; mine sites across the United States are reclaimed with means of open spaces, trees and shrubs that provide nourishment for wildlife and man man ponds that contain water year round, all efforts are taken to to prevent erosion of the mountain tops.

While the Mountain might not exactly look as it originally did, the mining companies try to leave their sites as eco-system friendly as possible.
