Melting snow provides moving water which can be used to power a micro hydro turbine. The generator uses the movement of the water to spin a turbine which produces energy. Many micro hydro turbines are located on rivers which recieve an increase in flow from the snow melt, if only seasonally. More flow means more energy, as long as the flow isn’t too great for the turbine and generator.
