Can ingredients found in bronzers cause cancer?

    Certain bronzers do contain ingredients known to cause cancer, depending on the makers.  Carcinogenic ingredients such as coal tar, methylparaben, nano titanium dioxide are found in some bronzers.  There are some non-toxic options, The Green Guide offers some tips on buying safe blushes and bronzers.

    You’ll have to do some research and check the labels, which vary by brand. Cosmetics are not regulated by the FDA, so it’s hard to say whether the wide and varying combinations of ingredients used in any cosmetic pose health threats. However, some chemicals used in some cosmetics have been found to be present in tumors, namely Thimerosal and paraben preservatives. You’ll want to look out for ingredients like this when shopping, but beware – not all ingredients are disclosed, as some companies will list a name for their secret formula and not the ingredients themselves. While cancer is not by any means a major risk, but allergies and hormonal disruptions are far more common with the use of face and body cosmetics. Check out the link below for more information
