Seasonal depression is linked to a lack of sunlight and sun exposure. The best way to treat seasonal depression is to get enough sunlight or to have some artifical lighting that you could take in every day. Unless this indoor garden has some artificial lighting in it, it probably wont help much. It will help with stress relief, which could inadvertantly help ease the depression.
Because lack of sunlight is the main factor that contributes to seasonal depression, an indoor garden would not be a cure, however I am sure the presence of something natural might help somewhat alleviate the symptoms.
