India has a lot of untapped potential renewable energy–according to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the state could generate 133,000 megawatts from clean sources. It currently is drawing less than 15,000 MW from a combination of wind, small hydro, cogeneration, biofuel, “waste-to-energy,” and solar power. Most of its power is drawn from, in order: coal, hydro power, and natural gas. Relative to the rest of the world, they have a lot of untapped solar energy.
