Can the icebergs floating toward New Zealand be harmful?

The iceberg is actually going toward Australia and scientists believe that if and when it hits the continental shelf it could cause tremor three to four in magnitude. The farther north it travels though the more it will melt and pieces will begin to break off. These small pieces could become a problem for ships in the area, but other than the ice will eventually melt off.
