The government does do a lot of tax breaks with regards to solar energy systems.  The federal government offer a 30% tax credit for your system, plus most state governments have incentives for putting in a solar system.  On top of that, talk to your utility company because most will give you credits for lowering the amount of energy they have to supply.  Join all that with the fact that you aren’t paying for electricity anymore, and you will find that solar energy is actually very easy to finance and can be extremely profitable.
