You can very easily grow blackberry starts from even a small bit of vine from a wild plant. There are still a few reasons not to do this, however. First, in many natural areas (like National Parks and Forests) it is illegal to remove any plant, animal or stone. Second, many “wild” blackberries are actually invasive species. When they get loose in wild areas they can smother native species, leading to less healthy, less diverse ecosystems.
