If they’re still in good condition, there are a lot of things you can do with old quilts. You can donate them to a charity, homeless shelter, or thrift store so that those who need warm bedding will be able to have it. Look into local resources in your area to see if there are any organizations actively soliciting donations in your area. If not, you can always call local non-profits up and ask if they need quilts (or know any group that does).
Animal shelters will also accept bedding. Project Linus is a non-profit that donates blankets to people that are ill, traumatized, and or in need. Check out the link below to find a chapter near you. You can also make new crafts out of quilts like picture frames, purses, pillowcases, dolls, a scrapbook cover, Christmas ornaments, or stockings.
