Bread bags are generally made of low-density polyethylene, which is a recyclable plastic. I usually reuse bread bags before I recycle them; they’re perfect for storing bagels in the freezer!
Plastic bags, although hard to recycle, can be recycled! Most curbside recycling services only accept hard plastics, so find out if a nearby grocery store accepts plastic bags for recycling, and take your bags there. You’ll be doing the environment a great service, as currently less than 1% of plastic bags are recycled.
