There are a few indoor methods to composting, but if you are hoping to continue an outdoor compost, no need to worry. Any given compost will have live bacteria that produce their own heat through metabolic activities. Some of these bacteria can withstand very cold temperatures while others become dormant until temperatures rise again. If you live in extreme conditions, try using buckets for insulating your compost.
