Can hydrogen fuel completely replace gasoline?

Eventually, other things will completely replace gasoline. It will become too expensive to burn, moderately soon (decades) and if the oil which is its precursor is continued to be used, it will eventually (centuries) become so scarce that while it is present, no one will seek it.

Whether hydrogen or any other fuel is “the one” that supplants gasoline depends on a great many things, most importantly its cost. Read some of the many greenanswers responses and you will probably see that for the forseeable future (decades) hydrogen fuel is not really viable as an economic alternative.
