According to an article on Cleveland.com (2011), The airplane industry has been experimenting with hydrogen fuel cells for many years. In fact, as of this past July, Boeing has a small single-passenger plane that can run on hydrogen fuel cells. The U.S. Navy has also used hydrogen fuel cells to power unmanned aircrafts. Plane-based fuel cells mix with oxygen and hydrogen to create electricity and water. This fuel cell has the ability to power temperature controls on the plane, lights, and other electrical systems (Cleveland Live, Inc., 2011).
