Can a hornet bite kill you?

Hornet and wasp stings can kill you if you are allergic to the venom or if you are stung enough times. Hornets, wasps, and bees are all social insects, meaning they live together in colonies. They will exhibit aggression if someone is too close to their colony or tries to harm them (swating them, trapping them, etc.) When a hornet stings, they release  chemical signals called pheromones, causing other bees to join the attack. Death is usually the result of anaphylactic shock
