Can “Global Warming” cause extreme cold temperatures?

It’s not efficient or practical to look at global warming compared with local climate variations. “Global Warming” refers to a planet-wide trend, an overall temperature increase taken from various locations. Can extreme cold still occur? Of course. Can it pop up in unusual places? Yes. Climate change is linked with global warming, but climate and weather should be examined as the same thing. 2008 was a cooler year than 2007, but it was still the 10th warmest year in recorded history. This shows an upward trend in global temperatures – that’s global warming.
