Generators could potentially run on vegetable oil, but not in its purest form. A diesel generator is essentially a diesel engine that spins a generator to produce electricity. Any diesel engine can burn biodiesel fuels, which are diesel fuels created from life materials, such as vegetable oil. Before the generator can burn the fuel, however, the vegetable oil must be treated appropriately. Remember though, that only diesel powered generators can burn vegetable oil based fuels, not petroleum fueled generators.
