Can plants ever get sick?

    Yes, plants are susceptible to fungus and plant diseases just as humans are susceptible to sickness. It can lead to the destruction of the plant, and is usually done by a parasitic fungus or the like.

    Yes, plant illness constantly occurs, and it can have mighty effects on the agriculture industry. Sickness in plant species may be caused by insects, drought, lack of sunlight, or exposure to air pollution. Injuries that eventually lead to sickness may be caused by chemicals, unprofessional branch cutting, or ice damage. Plant pathogens include fungi, nematodes, viruses, bacteria, and parasites. Once a plant is sick, a variety of symptoms can appear: tissue replacement, growth, shrinking, or death; loss of leaves or fruit; wilting; or discoloration.
