Can different types of bears breed?

Since many different species of bear do not share the same habitat, it would be difficult for many species to interbreed. Scientists however have uncovered evidence that Grizzly and Polar bears may be interbreeding. Stories of hybrid bears have long been reported but only recently has significant scientific evidence came to light to support these claims.
