Can diet effect your sleep patterns?

Yes it most definitely can. Eating foods rich in sugar before you sleep can cause you trouble in sleeping along with foods rich in caffeine. Eating foods that have natural melatonin before you sleep such as cherries, or walnuts, and food that has tryptophan in it such as warm milk or turkey will help you doze off as well and more deeply also.

Scientist are unclear as to how much of an impact diet has on sleep.  Good eating habits can contribute to good health. By eating a well balanced diet you can prevent many diseases, which in turn prevents the need to take medications for those diseases. Medications can interfere with how well you sleep. A good diet and moderate exercise will help you sleep well throughout the night.
