Can the damage in the Arctic be reversed?

Global warming is causing ice to melt in the arctics at an alarming rate. Since global warming is still occuring today, I can’t image that the situation is on its way to being reversed. I found an article online from a few years ago, talking about how the damage in the arctic is on its way to being irreversible. Judging by recent developments in the news, the ice is still continuing to melt at a much faster rate than in the past. This is a sad situation, and I really hope it isn’t too late.
