Can crayfish be found in all the states?

Crayfish are found in fresh waters throughout the US. It seems pretty safe to assume you could come across native crayfish in every or almost every state in the country, minus Alaska and Hawaii. Actually the United States, and the Southeast especially, represents the center of global crayfish biodiversity. 70% of the world’s crayfish species are found in the US. The eastern part of the country is especially rich in crayfish, and many species there are confined to very limited ranges.
