Can compostable garbage be removed from existing landfills?

I doubt it. Reclaiming compostables from landfills would require hours of painstaking labor to sift through the thousands of tons of plastic, glass, and other trash that fill our landfills. Landfills are enormous, many-acre operations, and the amount of labor and time it would take to glean all compostables from a landfill is immeasurable. THe best thing that we can do is work to keep as many compostables out of the trash as possible, now that we know we can! Here’s a good site about composting, so you can make sure you keep your own compostable waste from getting thrown in a landfill.
