Brad Pitt may be an extremely popular celebrity, and have a lot of clout as far as that goes, but he cannot, in and of himself, change how we build our houses. It’s going to take more than a single person. Ultimately it’s up to the general public — if they insist on buying houses built a certain way, then the people building the houses will have to comply. To wreak this sort of large-scale change, a celebrity endorsement can be helpful but it will never be enough on its own.
It’ll take a lot more than a single celebrity to change the way the United States does anything much less the way it builds houses. Advocacy groups are the best bet, as they have the means to move people to action and organize people who want to help out. Strength in numbers is the way to go.
