The average tarantula bite will be comparable to a bee sting and will sometimes swell and become red. If one is allergic to the venom of a tarantula, the side effects can be much worse. They include difficulty breathing, swollen eyes, rapid heart rate and, in some extreme cases, cardiovascular collapse. The spider is not considered dangerous unless one has an allergic reaction and many people actually keep them as pets (why? I don’t know. But they do.) Either way, if a tarantula bites you, you should contact poison control immediately so you can take the proper steps.
