Can anything match the torque of an electric engine?

The torque of an electric motor is fairly unmatched. Electric motors are much more efficient in putting out torque than gasoline powered engines. There are even certain motors that can be programmed to change the torque. These motors could in theory produce infinitely high amounts of torque if the batteries could support it. You don’t even really need a transmission with most electric motors, and that makes them even more appealing because there are fewer moving parts on the vehicle to break.
