Can any biofuels also replace the need for petroleum in things like crayons and toothpaste?

For years, scientists have been experiments with creating polymers from organic materials rather than petroleum products. The use of these called ‘bioplastics’ would allow for a safe and sustainable alternative to the need for petroleum based polymers for plastics. Bioplastics are usually biodegradable and by experimenting with different organic compounds, more and more applications and different polymers can be created.
