Can all metals become red hot?

It appears so. Metals tend to become red hot, then white hot, then blue hot. However, in the presence of oxygen, some metals such as magnesium will combust instead of turning red hot. Magnesium can become red-hot if it is deprived of oxygen while it is heated.
