If you’ve used up all of the liquid and the can is empty, than aerosol cans can be recycled at normal recycling facilities with other steel or aluminum products. If your can isn’t empty, you have two options: If it’s a defective can, try returning it to the manufacturer – they often take back the extra ‘product’ at no charge. If the can is fine and you just have left-overs, drain and rinse the can, but don’t puncture it (danger!). You can also try contacting your local recycling center to see if they will accept semi-filled aerosol cans.
