Can $9 billion really stop global warming for another 100 years?

According to this article (, the cost of stopping global warming would add up to the cost of one postage stamp per household per day in the U.S during 2020. According to the census bureau, there are 127,901,934 households in the U.S. When you add that up, it’s just over 10 billion at the minimum and could be over 20 billion. In addition, this is just what is needed to stop global warming now. We will continue to have to use funds to curb greenhouse gas emissions throughout the years. Thus, $9 billion is far from enough.
