Is California going to be a role model to the rest of the world with their renewable goals?

    California has long been at the forefront with environmental progress. They have even been at odds with the federal Environmental Protection Agency for trying to enforce stricter standards. California has already proven to be a role model with its environmental progress. Decoupling utilities from their profits in the 1970’s has proven enormously helpful to keeping energy consumption constant, while the rest of the nation rose substantially. California’s nearest renewable goal, 33% by 2020, is certain to prove inspiring to the rest of the world should we achieve it. We can also look to other cities that have great renewable policies for leadership and inspiration:
