According to the webpage I have linked below, insurance should cover most of BP’s spill expenses. This would be very similar to the Exxon Valdez spill, where Exxon was only responsible for about $700 million of the over $2 billion in cleanup cost and compensatory damages. Wacky world we live in where others will pay for our massive-catastrophic errors. I do not pity the insurance companies one iota.
