Box vs. Bottled wine battle has been raging for years, but the fact is that boxes are far better for the environment. This has to do a lot with manufacturing and shipping. Glass manufacturing releases sulfur oxides and other chemicals into the atmosphere. Also they are a lot heavier, so when shipping it is not only more costly to the wallet, but the carbon emissions from the trucks and planes carrying the product is greater as well. Boxes are lighter and many are getting a lot better (check out the bota box). If you want to go totally recyclable buy wine in a tetra-pak. I like French Rabbit.
