Is the bloodhound better at smelling things than a German shepherd?

Yes, the Bloodhound has a better sense of smell than the German Shepherd because they have more scent receptors. A Bloodhound has nearly 1,000 times more scent receptors than people. They have 300 million, while the German Shepherd has 225 million. German Shepherds are typically chosen to be K-9 police dogs, however, because they are easily trained to obey their master and they are very intelligent dogs.
