It is a real idea, but it may never come to fruition. it is simply one plan for the space submitted by a team of architects, and not an actual city-approved, go-ahead project. The expense required to make the building is likely prohibitive, as well, since Boston is not actually rolling in dough these days (I am a Boston resident). What we do know is this: biofuel CAN be used to create energy, and the empty Filene’s building in downtown Boston is an annoying eyesore. It would be great if it could be turned into something, and better if it’s something that saves us tons of energy.
