It depends on what health aim you are after. Walking aids in digestion, and if it is a nature or beach walk or even in a quiet park, is good for body and mind. Walking also is good for those who have weak joints, or for those who are disabled or pregnant. On the other hand, running is good for building athleticism, endurance, and for burning fat. It improves lung capacity and as part of a good diet regimen, can help in significantly reducing fat. Thus, both are good for you and if you have the luxury to include both in your life, then that would be ideal.
