Is bamboo native to the United States?

    Yes there are species of bamboo native to the United States. 64 percent of bamboo are native to Asia and the rest is spread over to Africa and Oceania (Australia, Indonesia etc.). There are more than 440 species in Latin America. The United States has three native species.  The three species are Arundinaria, Phyllostachys, and Sasa.
