Is balsa wood from a balsa tree?

    Yes, balsa wood does come from balsa trees. “Balsa trees grow naturally in the humid rain forests of Central and South America. Its natural range extends south from Guatemala, through Central America, to the north and west coast of South America as far as Bolivia.” Balsa wood is also known to be one of the softest kinds of wood which makes it easy to cut and design. Thus, it being the tope choice for wood used in model airplanes.
