It’s definitely not good for, say, building houses. However, it is good for some things: it’s a preferred material for model airplanes, and a lot of wind turbines are made partly of balsa wood. It’s used for table tennis tables, fishing reel cranks, and surfboards. Unlike a lot of types of wood, it floats readily, and is often used in the construction of boats. Considering that its theoretical number of applications is unlimited, it’s hard to say how suitable it would be for “most” of them.
