Is natural gas bad for the air?

    Natural gas is the cleanest of all fossil fuels, however, it is still a fossil fuel and still releases a bevy of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. Compared to coal and oil it releases much less carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxides, particulate matter and mercury but it does emit about the same level of methane as oil.
