    Yes, Australia is many times larger.  Australia has an area of 7,617,930 square kilometers, while New Zealand’s area is only 268,021 square kilometers.

    Definitely, much bigger. In terms of size Australia is just a little smaller than the United States, measuring in around 2,967,909 square miles. New Zealand, on the other hand, is closer to the state of Colorado in size, measuring around 103,733 square miles.

    Australia is also larger in terms of population. In 2009 New Zealand had about 4.3 million people residing, whereas Australia had almost 22 million people.
