Both asphalt and concrete are pretty hard and can be unforgiving on some people’s knees when compared to running on other surfaces like grass, dirt, or treadmills. But concrete is harder than asphalt, and therefore more rough on the body than asphalt is, that is why you will find it more comfortable to run on the road than on the sidewalk; and remember to always be careful when running through high traffic locations.
