Aren’t there hundreds of companies in the chamber of commerce, why does it matter that a few energy companies are leaving?

Well, from the perspective of the chamber of commerce’s president, it doesn’t seem to matter too much – they aren’t giving in and changing their position. The thing is, the energy companies that have left are very large, PG&E in particular. Even Apple has left, a huge company with enormous resources. If these companies leaving inspire others to leave as well, the chamber of commerce may find itself much smaller. We can only hope that they do change their ridiculous position on climate change.
