    No.  The wood bison is a subspecies of the American Bison, which historically inhabited the upper half of the North American continent.  Today they are listed as an endangered species in Canada.

    No. Wood Bison, also called Mountain Bison, are a subspecies of the American Bison. They live in Canada and Alaska. They became extinct in Alaska, but have recently made a comeback. The state has set up a recovery program for them and their numbers are increasing.
