According to the Nobel Women’s Initiative (a group composed of female nobel laureates), women are more effected by global warming than men especially in poorer countries. Wangari Maathai, a Kenya woman who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2004 for her reforestation efforts, says that men have the opportunity to move on and go to other countries when the food supply is low. However, women do not have the same opportunities and must stay and deal with the consequences of climate change.
