Are wild dogs related to the wolf?

All dogs and wolves share a common ancestor, therefore all dogs, not just wild dogs are related to the wolf.  Depending on where the particular species branched from the ancestral tree of the dog, they could be more closely related than some other species.

Yes wild dogs and wolves have a common relation. Wolves and wild dogs are both in the Canidae family, which is the biological family of carnivorous and omnivorous mammals ranging from wolves, foxes, jackals, and domestic and wild dogs.
