Are wild bison populations growing?

Despite attempts to revive wild bison populations, the bison population in America remains stagnant.  Today, the U.S. wild bison population is “…less than one percent of what it was in pre-colonial times, hovering at around 20,000 animals.”  There has been a depletion of space for the bison to roam and a rise of the virus brucellosis, which causes the bison to experience difficulty with conceiving offspring and producing milk.
