Are whale calves larger than humans?

    The size of the whale calf depends on the kind of whale it is. Blue whale calves, the largest newborns in the world, can be up to 23ft and 8 tons when they are born. This makes them considerably bigger than humans and these are just the babies!

    Another example is killer whale calves which can be 8.5 ft long and 300-400lbs when they are born. A human could be that large in terms of size, but are less likely to be as tall, and a combination of the two would be very unusual indeed.
