No, not yet. Harnessing osmotic power is still a new concept and was only first developed in 2009 in the city of Statkraft, Norway. Leading the way, Statkraft has built a 1-2MW pilot facility with plans for a full-scale facility with a capacity of 25MW–around 166 GWh of electricity a year.
